Magnetic and electromagnetic evaluation of the iron nanoparticle filled polyurethane nanocomposites

چکیده
The magnetic and electromagnetic wave absorption behavior of a flexible ironnanoparticle reinforced polyurethane nanocomposite is reported. Surface-initiatedpolymerization (SIP) method was utilized to fabricate high quality nanocomposites with uniform particle distribution and tunable particle loading (up to 65 wt.%). The enhancement of coercive force is observed when the nanoparticles are embedded into the polymer matrix Electromagnetic wave absorption performance at a discrete frequency as studied by metal-backed reflection loss indicates that the SIP nanocomposites can save the weight up to 50% compared to the composite counterpart with micron-size particles. Nanoparticle dispersion in polymer nanocomposites by spin-diffusion-averaged paramagnetic enhanced NMR relaxometry.
We developed an analytical relationship between nuclear magnetic relaxation and interparticle spacings in polymer nanocomposites filled with paramagnetic-impurity-containing clay nanoparticles. Using (1)H NMR relaxometry, clay nanoparticle dispersion was quantified and agrees with interparticle spacing distributions determined from statistical analysis of TEM images. Some information on the ove...
متن کاملMagneto-dielectric properties of polymer– Fe3O4 nanocomposites
The aim of this research is to elucidate the size effect of magnetic nanoparticles on the resultant magneto-dielectric properties of polymer nanocomposites at radio frequencies. The block copolymer of [styrene-b-ethylene/butylene-b-styrene] (SEBS) was utilized as a matrix for the templating of magnetic nanoparticles. Surfactant-modified iron oxide (Fe3O4) nanoparticles of various sizes were suc...
متن کاملThe Role of Nanoparticle Layer Separation in the Finite Deformation Response of Layered Polyurethane-Clay Nanocomposites
Nanoscale control of structure in polymer nanocomposites is critical for their performance but has been difficult to investigate systematically due to the lack of a suitable experimental model. In this work, we investigated the role of nanoparticle layer separation in the finite deformation response of layered polyurethane(PU-) montmorillonite (MTM) nanocomposites. A series of multilayered nano...

In this paper, we present a semi-analytical model for determining the magnetic and electromagnetic characteristics of spoke-type permanent magnet (STPM) machine considering magnet segmentation and finite soft-material relative permeability. The proposed model is based on the resolution of the Laplace’s and Poisson’s equations in a Cartesian pseudo-coordinate system with respect to the relative ...
